The fertility journey is an experience that extends far beyond the physical body. The waiting, the uncertainty, medical treatments, and sometimes difficult news can give rise to profound emotional distress: anxiety, feelings of isolation, loss of bearings, and tension within the couple. Caring for your mental health is not an afterthought — it is an essential component of quality medical care. At the Maison de la Fertilité, we believe every patient deserves a dedicated space to express their experience, alongside clinical treatment.
Miléna Katz-Bloch is a clinical psychologist who graduated from the University of Strasbourg and a certified psychotherapist, practising with a psychoanalytic orientation. Her approach helps each patient put into words what is happening internally: the emotional impact of a diagnosis, the repercussions on body image, and the questions surrounding transmission and parenthood. Her experience at the Strasbourg University Hospitals — in maternity, geriatrics, and rehabilitation — as well as in nutritional care centres, gives her a nuanced understanding of the interplay between mind and body.
The psychological support offered takes several forms tailored to your needs: individual consultations for in-depth work, couple sessions to strengthen communication and solidarity when facing challenges, group workshops encouraging the sharing of experiences, and therapeutic patient education sessions. This support is available at every stage of your journey — from the initial diagnosis through treatment, from awaiting results to welcoming a pregnancy, or through perinatal grief and the path toward rebuilding.
